The 84 mm Carl Gustav weapon simulation is achieved by fitting the following to the Carl Gustav launch tube:

1. a forward facing Small Format Transmitter (SFT) - to fire coded laser beams, and
2. a backward facing Back Blast Transmitter (BBT) - to simulate back-blast danger area

The forward facing SFT fires coded laser beam threats to the CVTESS vehicles and TESS harnesses upon which the Carl Gustav weapon is aimed. The backward facing round BBT fires coded laser beams and any player in the back blast danger area (BBDA) will receive a hit.
