Mini Automatic Transmitter Alignment System (MATAS) The Oscmar Mini Automatic Transmitter Alignment System (MATAS) is used to zero the Oscmar Laser Projector/Transmitter to the weapon sights by aligning the laser tube of the Projector to the weapon sight. This is required as different weapons and users have different sight offsets. The process of aligning the Projector is similar to live fire-zeroing practice. The MATAS can be used in either the automatic or the manual alignment configurations. In the automatic mode, the position of the laser beam hits on the target screen is conveyed to the drive unit (mounted on the projector) over the IR link. The drive unit has two motors that rotate the projector laser tube alignment knobs in order to zero in the laser beam to the centre of the target screen. Operator intervention is not needed. In the manual mode, the laser beam hits on the target screen are noted and the laser alignment adjustment knobs on the projector are manually rotated to centre the laser beam horizontally and vertically. |
