The Grenade Simulator (GS) is a non-explosive reusable simulated hand grenade-training device for use in a battlefield training exercise. It replicates approximately the shape, size, weight, and use of a typical in-service hand grenade. The GS can also be used for booby trap operation.

The grenade simulator contains a low power radio transmitter. Upon 'explosion', the UHF frequency RF signal emitted is received by the affected harnesses or vehicle receivers. The unlicensed band UHF frequency used is relatively unaffected by foliage and thin branches.
